I have never fought it a war and I never want too. I do not want my children to fight in a war. I have relatives who have fought for this country and watched their friends not come back.
All I can express is my thanks and honor for those who have fought and will fight for our country.
Thank you!

Alexis’ Painting Helps Orphans
A few weeks ago, Carrie and I found out the Alexis painted a picture at a local VBS and that picture was part of a silent auction to assist those less fortunate.
This is something you have to brag about! Alexis used to God given ability to bless others!

We definitely proud parents!
Just bragging,

Michael Vey: Book Review
Excellent!
Richard Paul Evans created a book which held my reading attention captive over the past two days. I would have finished the book in one day, but I had teaching and speaking preparations to finish.
The story of Michael Vey, a small high school student from Idaho, is not just for young readers. It will capture adult readers as the story takes you on a spectacular journey. Michael’s attempt to understand his abilities and purpose takes him from a student being bullied to the status of a rock star.
As a person who usually five books at one time, I forsook the others for Michael Vey.
This science fiction books is not something I would normally read, but now I cannot wait the the next one.

My Thoughts on Netflix

Yesterday, Netflix announced they are changing their price structure for subscribers. New subscribers are already seeing the change and current subscribers will see the change on September 1st. The change does away with several different viewing options from Netflix, in favor or a general $7.99 streaming plan with an add on feature of 1 DVD out at a time for $7.99.
The total cost will be $15.98 for streaming and 1 DVD out at a time service which equals a 60% increase for some customers but not all. For a while, my family and I had the $16.99 plan which allowed for unlimited streaming and 3 DVD out at a time, but we downgraded to the $9.99 plan of unlimited streaming plus 1 DVD out at a time. Our downgrade was due to not using the features to the fullest.
I know the 60% increase angers many people, but I am not angered by it because I am sticking with the $7.99 instant streaming plan and I will use RedBox for my DVD rentals. It is a simple choice to our family. We love being cable free and we plan on staying cable free!
What do you plan to do about the Netflix increase?
